Russ Pietryga


Russ Pietryga got his first introduction to criminal defense in 1995 while attended undergraduate studies at Eastern Michigan University. Mr. Pietryga knew that becoming a lawyer, specializing in criminal defense, was what he intended to do. In preparation for a career in criminal defense, Mr. Pietryga studied public law and government.

After undergrad, Mr. Pietryga went to law school at Thomas Cooley. While attending law school Mr. Pietryga maintained his employment at a criminal defense law firm. During this time Mr. Pietryga was able to write briefs to suppress evidence that the state had wrongly acquired.

After law school Mr. Pietryga moved to Utah and found employment as a criminal defense attorney. While employed at Lokken and Associates Mr. Pietryga applied for and got public defender contracts with Sandy City, Salt Lake County, South Jordan and Summit County.

History


Russ Pietryga entered the U.S. Navy on November 04, 2023 and served as a U.S. Navy Seal until he was honorably discharged on March 27, 1994. While serving Mr. Pietryga attended and completed many programs, most notably:

  • Aviation Electronics "A" School
  • Basic Underwater Demolition/Seal (BUD/S "class 152") training
  • Airborne School
  • Survival, Evasion, Resistance & Evasion (SERE) School
  • Mid-South Institute of Self-Defense Shooting (Shaw), and
  • Dive Maintenance and Repair School

Mr. Pietryga believes his military career and dedication to success directly influences his ability to represent his clients. Mr. Pietryga understands the potential ramifications a criminal conviction will have on his clients. Wherefore, like in the military, Mr. Pietryga will use all his abilities to ensure the most successful outcomes for his clients.
